Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

Establishment and maintenance of reliable and easily accessible geographic databases along with Land use classification, land use zone analysis and land use classification GUI customization using Erdas Macro Language for efficient environmental monitoring systems which are essential requirements to cope with the immense challenge to secure sustainable food production and to prevent environmental degradation.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by the Company:

·         GPS Survey

·         Map Preparation

·         GPS Data uploading, Processing and Plotting,

·         Digital Image Processing and classification (supervised and unsupervised)

·         Land use map preparation using RS Image and software where  all pixels in the image were assigned to particular classes or themes (e.g. water, forest, crop, etc.)

·         Satellite data of the most suitable season(s) was analyzed to prepare a current land cover/land use map.

·         Satellite data was analyzed and classified into different land zones incorporated with GIS.

·         An approach was build for customizing the interface of Erdas Imagine system.

·         Erdas Macro Language was used to design the same graphical user interface tools that are used in Erdas imagine and at this stage a graphical interface tool was developed for land use classification using EML.

·         After completion of the work a technical report with training manual was prepared and training was arranged for the concerned officials of DPSS on how to use the customozed software of ERDAS Imagine and the basics of Remote Sensing.

·         The purpose of the training was strengthen the GIS section of SRDI through Remote Sensing knowledge so that they may able to do land classification, land zoning and map preparation with the customized remote sensing software.
